Tableland Tenants Advice Service

Tableland Tenant Advice & Advocacy Service (TAAS) is a not-for-profit organisation, based on the Tablelands in Far North Queensland.

The Service is funded by the Department of Housing Queensland and the Queensland Residential Tenancies Authority to provide a range of services to private and public rental tenants.

Staff are able to provide information, advice and assistance relating to the Queensland Residential Tenancies Act and the Queensland Residential Services (Accommodation) Act.
In addition to this, staff are able to provide housing information and referral services.
TAAS(Q) does not own or operate any housing itself.

The organisation is run by a voluntary Management Committee and employs fully trained professional staff in the office. The organisation prides itself on quality and timely services to assist tenants.
All services are provided free of charge by fully trained staff.

Our main activity is providing tenancy advice and advocacy services to residential tenants.
Our services are aimed at assisting private rental tenants, public housing tenants and future tenants and members of the general community, and providing community education around tenancy issues.

We do not provide advice to lessors, agents or property owners, however our staff are happy to provide contact numbers for appropriate agencies who are able to assist lessors, agents and property owners.
